About MagicRail and MPUCoder

MagicRail is the site for another side of MPUCoder - model railroading. More specifically the electronics of modern model railroading (ie since the advent of DCC). Here you'll find lots of MicroChip pic microcontrollers.
Microcontrollers are complete systems of interface devices and microprocessing units. MPU is the abbreviation for a microprocessor - see where the nickname came from?

MPUCoder is the trademark of SoundWare Associates for computer related information and programs, as well as the nickname for the founder of our company.
Founded in 1987 as STN Services, an entertainment equipment leasing company, we soon became involved with creating unique and custom electronics. By 1997 the business was primarily developing custom electronics and software solutions, so the company was renamed as SoundWare Associates. As soon as we established the new name we branched out into video, adding cameras, digital mixers, and EFX equipment to the roster. But, the name remained unchanged.
Among the products developed by SoundWare Associates are the HVP4, a hybrid (analog and digital) online non-linear video editor, and the CP-4 continuous play multi-VTR controller.
