Finishing the loop - but not the project
Thumb Thumb Thumb
The switches have been fitted and final curves laid out, roadbed laid down.
Thumb Thumb
The reason this has to be left at this stage is the right hand switches are not here yet. For purposes of laying out the switch plant an older #6.5 was used. It has the same dimensions as the new style, but is not "DCC friendly". Notice that the inner rails are connected on the old style, but insulated from each other and the frog on the new (and internally connected to the stock rails for power).
Thumb Thumb
Also the old style connects both point rails together, which can lead to shorts as flanges bridge the gap.

After laying the track.

The two test engines, B&M 6211 and Amtrak 36, show off the temporary station.

Material for the next phase, building a town called "Crossroads", getting flattened.
